Sun in Gemini
May 21 - Jun 20: Here the Sun focuses the spotlight upon the natives intellectual capacity. There is often a need for recognition of one's genius and wit and there is a constant motivation for self expression. They are very talkative and keenly alert. Frequently these individuals become teachers in grade school or professors at the college level. They need to be in charge of making decisions to feel fully appreciated. They dislike the rigidness of authority and the bureaucratic mentality because they are capable of seeing situations from many angles more easily than most.
In a diurnal chart, the heat emphasizes greater activity and nervousness. There is less animosity for authority and they themselves often become authoritative. The inherent duality of Gemini is tempered by a sense of order and heirarchy. The mind is highly geared toward analysis and making distinctions between things.
In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of night blurrs distinctions, and thought processes become more relational than analytical. Here the duality of Gemini is amplified by the dyadic "Other" and ones sense of self identity and esteem may be lacking under difficult circumstances. Authority is usually despised and feared to some extent.
