Both of these are symbols representing the natives defensiveness and sentimentality. They are fond of nostalgia, like to entertain at home and are eager to have the attention of friends and family. Much of this persons sense of identity and purpose in life comes from relationships with family and relatives. They have strong family values. These individuals are sensitive and introverted and can be very defensive about how others think of them, but they are fond of praise. There is usually a strong maternal instinct.
In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day help to tame the dyadic nature of the steward of this place, making the native more masculine and less sensitive, but only moderately so. They are therefore more secure about themselves than their nocturnal counterparts. This Cancerian is more outgoing and in some instances, will get involved in politics, but they usually prefer local politics over national and international concerns.
In a nocturnal chart, the cold and moistness of night leads to an increase in sensitivity and interest in domestic concerns. This native is family oriented and usually does not care much about the world outside their immediate environment. This individual can be manipulative if they feel emotionally threatened, and their behavior can be hard to fathom at times due to the dyadic nature of the lord of this place.
