Mars in Leo
This is a very masculine combination and it is said of these natives that they "have the right stuff". The Sun as lord of Mars shows one who is set apart and unique for qualities of courage, bravery and bold action. Because the Sun is heroic in quality and Mars is the "god of war" they are sometimes awarded with medals of honor for acts of bravery in the face of deadly situations. They have great composure under stress and handle emergencies well. They frequently enjoy risk and some play the role of daredevil. They have great self confidence, will power, determination, endurance and stamina. They are extremely competitive and will sometimes go to deadly lengths to ensure that they will not lose. When they do, they can be extremely sore losers.
In a diurnal chart, the heat and dryness of the day rarify the actions of the native making him stand out from the crowd. Those born with this should be careful of injury because Mars is not of the sect in favor and the day magnifies the malefic qualities of Mars. These natives can at times be wreckless.
In a nocturnal chart, the cool and moistness of the night counteract the excessively dry nature of Mars. They may not stand out as distinctly for their actions as a result, but they are not as wreckless and have greater self control. Their will power, determination and endurance may in fact be enhanced by the nocturnal sect, since the excess of heat in the day time can lead to a lack of control.
